  • Crank no start

These are my diagnostic steps for a "crank no start.
    1. Check fuel pump fuse
    2. If you try to start using starting fluid and it momentarily starts, you have a fuel ⛽️ related issue.
    3. Turn key to on (not start) and listen for fuel pump behind passengers seat.
    4. Check fuel pressure sensor (under hood)
    5. Put power directly to fuel pump to verify if working.
    6. Test/rebuild REM (Rear Electronics Module). If you send to me I test them for free or can rebuild for 400.
    7. Flash PCM and or Rebuild.

At some point on this list consider replacing fuel filter.

Corroded or shorted wires anywhere in the circuits can also be the cause.

if your fuel filter and pressure sensor are original not a bad idea to replace even if not the current cause of your problems

Gene, what adverse symptoms were you getting from your bad FEM?

No headlights, no dashboard lights, driver’s window not working. Now it won’t start and the alarm went off during the night. I’ve had the FEM pulled and FedExed to Bob. Hopefully the Ford engineer will get it working.
